  • Caramel Syrup
  • Caramelise 1/2-cup sugar in a heavy skillet over low heat by melting and browning to a light golden shade.
  • Add remaining sugar, salt and butter, and then bring to a boil.
  • Dumplings
  • Sift together sugar, flour and baking powder.
  • Cut in butter with blender or fork.
  • Add milk and vanilla and stir only until mixed.
  • Drop by spoonfuls into boiling syrup.
  • Cover and cook over low heat for 12 minutes.
  • Serve Hot, with Ice Cream & Whipped Cream.
