How to make it

  • The cake preheat oven to 350 and spray 2) 6 inch round baking pans
  • In a medium mixing bowl put the first 6 ingredients and beat on low speed for 1 minute, blending all the ingredients together. Next turn up speed and beat for 2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared pans, and bake. It will be done when golden and finger lightly touching cake does not imprint. Mine baked for 20 minutes, and may take 23 min.
  • cool in pans and after 10 minutes place on cooling rack out of baking pans. Let cool completely before frosting.
  • Caramel frosting: In a small sauce pan, place butter sugar corn syrup , turn stovetop onto medium low, and let the butter melt and the sugar almost melted. when it starts to make little tiny bubbles around the pan's perimeter, remove from heat. add about 1/2 cup confectioners sugar and using a whisk. beat into hot caramel. Using the milk for liquid and the powdered sugar to a good spreading consistency. Beat in vanilla
  • Spread jam on top of bottom layer, spread caramel frosting over the jam. Place second layer on top . Repeat with jam followed by frosting.
  • Serve w pride!
