How to make it

  • Bring a pot of salted water to boil (4 cups of water vs 2 cups of grits)
  • Add 2 cups of grits, lower heat and stir until thick, add cheese then set aside
  • Chop smoked sausage, add to heated skillet, cook till crisp
  • add a pound of cooked shrimp to sausage, saute in sausage drippings
  • Add chopped garlic, paprika & parsley
  • Add stick of butter
  • Cook down till butter is fully melted folding in ingredients
  • Put grits into bowl, spoon sausage/shrimp butter mixture over grits
  • Top with a little cheese
