How to make it

  • In a large pot like a Dutch oven full with beef stock or water about half full.
  • Chop veggies
  • Add barley and veggies and beef bring to boil and then simmer for an hour or more. I leave out to tomatoes and cabbage until everything else is cooked after an hour or so then I add them. Stir often to make sure the barley doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan. Easy and delicious and freezes well. Photo to follow. Enjoy! Nothing is laid in stone in this recipe.
