How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat cake mix, brown sugar, butter, peanut butter, water and egg.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients, except sea salt.
  • Spoon 1-inch balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, placing each one about an inch apart.
  • Lightly sprinkle the tops of the cookies with sea salt (optional).
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the cookies have puffed up and the edges are very slightly golden.
  • (NOTE: These cookies will not brown like typical chocolate chip cookies. They're more like sugar cookies in that respect.)
