Maple Shortbread

- 1 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 3 tbsp. maple syrup shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup icing sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup cornstarch shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- Maple Sugar (3 tbsp. or to your liking) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Cream together the butter and maple syrup until pale and fluffy.
- Then add the flour, sugar, cornstarch, and sugar.
- Whip for 1 min. on low in a mixer. Increase the speed to med.-high for 2 min.
- Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface until it's 1/4" thick.
- Cut cookies.
- Bake on a parchment lined baking sheet for 10-14 min. or until edges are a golden brown. (I checked my oven at 10 min. as I found the thinly rolled ones were a bit too brown at 12 min.)
- The moment you take them out of the oven, sprinkle liberally with Maple Sugar.
- Cool completely.
