Deep Dark Chocolate Cake

- 1-3/4 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup cocoa shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
- 1 cup boiling water shopping list
How to make it
- Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
- Add remaining ingredients except boiling water then beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Remove and stir in boiling water then pour into two greased and floured cake pans.
- Bake at 350 for 45 minutes then coo 10 minutes on rack.
- Remove from pans and cool completely.
- Frosting:
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2-2/3 cups powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Cream butter until softened in a small mixing bowl then add cocoa and blend well.
- Gradually add powdered sugar alternately with milk and vanilla and beat well.
- Spread on cake.
