Upside Down Cake

- Topping: shopping list
- 3 T butter shopping list
- 1/2 C brown sugar shopping list
- pineapple slices shopping list
- marschino cherries shopping list
- Cake: shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/2 C sugar shopping list
- 1 C flour shopping list
- 1 t baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 C milk shopping list
- 1 T veg. oil shopping list
- 1 t vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350*.
- For topping:
- Melt butter in pan.
- Add brown sugar and stir until melted.
- Let cool while mixing batter.
- For cake:
- Beat egg until light.
- Add sugar and beat well.
- Mix baking powder and flour, add alternately with milk.
- Place pineapples in pan on melted brown sugar in single layer.
- Put 1 cherry in the hole of each pineapple slice.
- Pour cake batter over pineapples.
- Bake at 350* for about 30 min.
- After cake is cool, turn out on a lg. cutting board, baking sheet, or serving tray, so that you can see how pretty your cake is.
- This is the same recipe for our cobblers. Just pour cake batter over blueberries, cherries, blackberries, etc. after sprinkling with sugar to taste.
