How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350*.
  • For topping:
  • Melt butter in pan.
  • Add brown sugar and stir until melted.
  • Let cool while mixing batter.
  • For cake:
  • Beat egg until light.
  • Add sugar and beat well.
  • Mix baking powder and flour, add alternately with milk.
  • Place pineapples in pan on melted brown sugar in single layer.
  • Put 1 cherry in the hole of each pineapple slice.
  • Pour cake batter over pineapples.
  • Bake at 350* for about 30 min.
  • After cake is cool, turn out on a lg. cutting board, baking sheet, or serving tray, so that you can see how pretty your cake is.
  • This is the same recipe for our cobblers. Just pour cake batter over blueberries, cherries, blackberries, etc. after sprinkling with sugar to taste.
