Ingredients
  • Mix together thoroughly:
  • ½ cup soft shortening
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Stir in:
  • 1 cup thick sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Sift together and stir in:
  • 2 ¾ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Chill at least 1 hour. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned. Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes.
  2. BRUNT BUTTER ICING:
  3. Melt 4 tablespoons butter until golden brown. Blend in 1 cup sifted powdered sugar and ½ teaspoon vanilla. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons hot water until icing spreads smoothly. Sprinkle on crushed peanuts.
