Butter Tart Squares Recipe
These taste just like buttertarts without the fiddling with individual tarts! Very rich!

Ingredients
  • For base:
  • 1 c flour
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 c butter
  • For topping:
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 c packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 c raisins

Directions
  1. For crust: In bowl combine flour and sugar.
  2. Cut in butter with pastry knife until crumbly.
  3. Press into ungreased 9x9 baking pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 min.
  5. For filling:
  6. In bowl mix butter and eggs, blend in sugar, flour, baking powder, vanilla and salt.
  7. Stir in raisins then pour over base.
  8. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 20-25 minutes.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

I haven't had a good raisin tart in years. I just wanted to thank you for posting this particular recipe. I can tell that its a "keeper" and can't wait to make this dish.


I've been collecting butter tart recipes all day and low and behold...this! I love the fact that it can be made in a baking pan as opposed to individual tart or muffin tins!! I'm sooo anxious to try this now! Thank You!!
