My Sisters Noggin Eggnog Recipe
This beverage packs a kick and warms you right up.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 10 eggs, separated (reserve whites for later)
  • 4 c. milk, scalded
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. heavy cream, whipped
  • 1/2 c. brandy
  • 1/4 c. light rum
  • nutmeg, grated or ground

Directions
  1. Blend 1/2 of sugar and egg yolks in top part of a double boiler
  2. Slowly stir in milk
  3. Cook over hot water , stirring constantly, until mixture coats spoon
  4. Remove from heat and chill approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours
  5. Add salt to egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form
  6. Gradually beat remaining sugar into whites
  7. Fold egg whites into chilled mixture
  8. Fold in the whipped cream
  9. Add brandy and rum
  10. Chill for several hours
  11. Pour into a punch bowl; sprinkle with nutmeg
  12. Makes about 30 - 4oz servings
