My Sisters Noggin Eggnog

- 3/4 c. sugar shopping list
- 10 eggs, separated (reserve whites for later) shopping list
- 4 c. milk, scalded shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 c. heavy cream, whipped shopping list
- 1/2 c. brandy shopping list
- 1/4 c. light rum shopping list
- nutmeg, grated or ground shopping list
How to make it
- Blend 1/2 of sugar and egg yolks in top part of a double boiler
- Slowly stir in milk
- Cook over hot water , stirring constantly, until mixture coats spoon
- Remove from heat and chill approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours
- Add salt to egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form
- Gradually beat remaining sugar into whites
- Fold egg whites into chilled mixture
- Fold in the whipped cream
- Add brandy and rum
- Chill for several hours
- Pour into a punch bowl; sprinkle with nutmeg
- Makes about 30 - 4oz servings
