How to make it

  • Beat egg yolks
  • Gradually add 1/2 of sugar and all the salt, beating constantly
  • Gradually add milk first then the cream
  • Cook over hot water, using a double boiler, until mixture coats spoon
  • Remove from heat and cool
  • Add sherry extract ; chill approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours
  • Beat egg whites until stiff while gradually adding remaining sugar
  • Continue beating until stiff peaks form
  • Fold into chilled custard
  • When ready to serve, pour into a chilled punch bowl, sprinkle with nutmeg
  • Nothing to do now but "LOVE IT UP!"
  • makes about 2 quarts or 16 - 4oz servings
