this is omething that i literally threw together one night when i decided to get a little creative.....goes well over chicken or scalloped potatoes

Ingredients
  • 1 chicken bouillion cube
  • about 3/4 cup of water
  • 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp. basil (optional)
  • 1 tsp. soul food seasoning (optional)
  • 1 tsp. chicken seasoning (optional)
  • 1 tsp.salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp. pepper (optional)
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • about 2 1/2 tbsp. of flour or enough to gradually thicken
  • 1-3 slices of a preferred cheese

Directions
  1. put about 3/4 cup of water in a pot, bring to a boil, add the chicken bouillion cube and let dissol, then add the olive oil
  2. add the basil, soul food seasoning, chicken seasoning, the salt and the pepper and stir
  3. then add the 2 tbsp. of butter and let melt
  4. add the cup of milk and blend in
  5. after stirring very gradually add the flour and continue to stir while adding...after you have added all the flour, stir consistently until it thickens
  6. upon thickening add the preferred cheese of your choice and let melt
  7. if mixture is too thick and more milk
  8. if mixture is too soupy gradually add more flour
  9. cook until it has all blended and melted....about 10/15 minutes
