- 5 medium onions, sliced shopping list
- 3 T shortening shopping list
- 1 lb. beef liver slices shopping list
- 2 T. all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/8 tsp. pepper shopping list
- 3/4 c. water shopping list
How to make it
- Cook onions in 1 T hot shortening until golden brown ; remove from pan
- Mix flour, salt and pepper together
- Dredge liver slices with flour mixture
- Fry in remaining shortening until brown on both sides
- Add onions and water
- Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until liver is tender
- Add more water if necessary to prevent sticking
