Beefsteak NA KYSELO Recipe
I find this an interesting way to prepare a rather tough cut of meat. It usually turns out tender and delicious.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs. round steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 T. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 lrg. onion sliced
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. dairy sour cream
  • 2 T. all purpose flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 T. ketchup (optional)

Directions
  1. Trim any fat from meat
  2. Cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
  3. Heat oil in heavy skillet
  4. Brown meat
  5. Lower heat
  6. Sprinkle salt over meat
  7. Top with onion slices
  8. Pour water over meat
  9. Simmer, covered, for 50 -60 minutes or until tender
  10. Check liquid; at end of cooking time there should be about 1 cup
  11. Remove meat to a hot dish
  12. Blend sour cream with flour and stir into skillet of juices and mix thoroughly
  13. Season with salt and pepper to taste
  14. Add ketchup at this point (optional)
  15. Heat through and pour over meat
  16. Serve very hot with boiled noodles or potatoes
