From notyourmomma 16 years agoIngredients
- 1 six pound fully cooked bone-in ham (butt end easier to carve) shopping list
- 1 16 ounce can of jellied cranberry sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup of apple juice shopping list
- 1/4 cup of brandy shopping list
- 2 tbsp of lemon juice shopping list
- 1 tbsp of Dijon mustard, coarse grind shopping list
- 2 teaspoons of sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons of grated lemon rind shopping list
- 2 teaspoons of grated orange rind shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of white pepper shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger shopping list
- 1/16 teaspoon of ground clove, scant amount-clove can overpower sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup of dried cranberries, coarsely chopped shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 325 degrees. Remove tough skin, score fat cap in diamond pattern. Place ham in large roasting pan, cover with foil.
- Bake about 2 hours until the meat thermometer reaches 140 degrees. Take the foil off after the first hour of baking.
- In the meantime, in a small sauce pan, combine all the remaining ingredients and mix well with a wire whisk.
- Cook until the jellied cranberry melts completely and the sauce is thoroughly heated. Stir frequently so it won't stick and burn.
- Serve over heated ham slices.
- (I love this meal with oven roasted brussel sprouts, tossed in balsalmic vingear and shallots) The combo just sings Christmas carols to me. Green and Ruby red on one plate.
