- ¾ cup shortening shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- ½ teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 2 ½ cups flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 (21-oz) can Comstock® or Wilderness® More fruit More cherry pie filling shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Preheat oven to 400 F. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla thoroughly, set aside.
- 2. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix thoroughly; Chill the dough 1 hour.
- 3. Roll the dough out to a 1/8" thickness, cut into desired heart shape. On one half of cut cookies, using smaller heart shaped cutter, cut out center of cookie. Stack 2 cookies, leaving center void on top. Place on an un-greased cookie sheet.
- Top each cookie with a dollop of Cherry Filling into heart center. Bake for 15 minutes.
- Note: You can use ready-made refrigerator sugar cookie dough. Cut off roll as directed and roll dough out to 1/8" thickness and proceed with direction above.
