Thick chocolate cookies

- 1-1/2 cups light brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup shortening shopping list
- 1/2 pound Hershey's® baking chocolate shopping list
- 3 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 3 cups flour shopping list
How to make it
- In a double boiler, melt chocolate over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and bring to room temperature.
- In a bowl, cream shortening and sugar with an electric mixer until light.
- Add chocolate.
- Add salt, cinnamon and milk. Mix to blend.
- In a bowl, sift flour and baking powder.
- Add to chocolate mixture.
- Add more flour, if needed, to make dough stiff.
- Drop by tablespoonsful onto ungreased cookie sheet 1-inch apart.
- Bake at 350° for 10 minutes, or until edges are crisp.
- Remove from oven and cool on wire racks for 20 minutes.
