Hmm, I'd find these a bit too sweet for my tastes with the addition of dried fruit, and depending on your tastebuds penchant for sweetness, you may need to play around with reducing the amount of sugar to get a good balance there.

Not having baked with spelt flour before, I couldn't say what results it would produce, but since the almond meal here plays just a big a role in the texture of the cookies as it does in the taste, I would assume that replacing it with any sort of flour would drastically change the texture.

Do you think these would be good with some chopped up dried fruit? I love making cookies with ground almonds, ir that is too expensive for most people ( like me but I don't care) you could substitute Spelt flour which has a kind of nutty taste.
