Spiced Cherries

- 1/2 c sugar shopping list
- 1/2 c orange juice shopping list
- 2 tbsp vinegar shopping list
- 1 tsp grated orange rind shopping list
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1/8 tsp mace shopping list
- 2 lbs dark sweet cherries, pitted (or 2 16 oz frozen pitted dark sweet cherries) shopping list
- 2 tbsp brandy, dry sherry, or orange juice shopping list
How to make it
- In a large saucepan, stir together the sugar, orange juice, vinegar, orange rind, cinnamon, and mace.
- Stir in the cherries.
- Bring to a boil over high heat. Lower heat to medium-high and boil, uncovered, for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the brandy.
- Transfer to a covered container and refrigerate for at least 8 hours before serving.
- This keeps well in the fridge for a week)
- Makes about 3 cups. Yum
