BACON MUSHROOM CHICKEN This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Azato Estate in Dallas, Texas in 1987.

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 bone in chicken breast halves with skin
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 2 thick slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms halved
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Preheat oven to 350.

Directions
  1. Pour melted butter into a rectangular baking dish.
  2. Add chicken skin side down then sprinkle with seasoning salt and garlic.
  3. Turn chicken over then season and lay bacon strips on top.
  4. Sprinkle with mushrooms.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
  6. Remove chicken, bacon and mushrooms to a platter and keep warm.
  7. Pour juices into small saucepan and whisk with cream over low heat until thickened.
  8. Pour sauce over chicken and serve warm.
