Ingredients

1/4 cup butter

1 cup diced celery

1/4 cup diced onion

12 cups water

1/4 cup thinly sliced carrots

4 cups chopped, cooked chicken

8 teaspoons chicken bouillon powder (or more or less to taste)

1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 bay leaf

1 teaspoon dried parsley

8 ounces whole wheat egg noodles

Directions

Melt butter in a large stock pot. Add celery and onion and saute over medium-high heat until onion is translucent.

Add chicken, carrots, water, bouillon, marjarom, pepper, bay leaf and parsley. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer 30 minutes.

Add noodles and simmer for 10 minutes.
