How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • CRUST
  • Cream butter and sugar until well-blended.
  • Add egg yolk and mix well.
  • Add flour and mix just until dough is formed.
  • Pat dough into a 9x13-inch pan, making a 1-inch border up the sides. Bake 15-18 minutes.
  • TOPPING
  • Whisk together thoroughly sugar and eggs.
  • Whisk in maple syrup.
  • Scatter pecans over crust
  • Pour syrup mixture over crust and scattered pecans
  • Bake 25-30 minutes until set.
  • Cool, cut into bars
