This recipe came from the food section of my paper and since my husband's middle name is 'sausage' I figured I better latch on to this. It is tasty,

Ingredients
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 red onion chopped
  • 3-4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 grated potato
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon carroway seeds
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 lb smoked, fully cooked german sausage sliced
  • 16 ounces sauerkraut, rinsed and drained

Directions
  1. preheat oven to 350 deg.
  2. place all ingredients except kraut in a 2/1/2 qt casserole
  3. which has been coated with cooking spray.
  4. GENTLY mix ingredients
  5. cover with sauerkraut
  6. cover dish and bake until heated through and bubbly
  7. about 40 minutes
  8. Einen Guten Appetit!
