Walnut Toffee

- 1/2 c walnut pieces shopping list
- 1 1/3 c packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 c butter (don't use margarine) shopping list
- 3 squares chopped semisweet chocolate shopping list
- 1/2 c chopped walnuts for sprinkling shopping list
How to make it
- Liberally butter a 9 inch square pan then spread the 1/2 c walnuts in pan.
- In a heavy saucepan bring the brown sugar and butter to a boil then lower heat to medium-high (keeping mixture bubbling constantly) and cook for 12 minutes.
- Pour quickly over walnuts in pan.
- Sprinkle the chocolate over the hot toffee and spread smooth as it melts.
- Sprinkle with extra chopped walnuts then chill.
- Break into pieces when cold.
