Ingredients
  • 1 can (20oz) pears
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
  • 2 TB lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 slice ready-to-eat ham, 2" thick
  • Brown sugar

Directions
  1. Remove pears from syrup. Add lemon peel, lemon juice and ginger to pear juice. Boil 5 minutes. Add pears and simmer gently for 5 minutes. Place ham in baking pan 13 x 9 x 2. Pat brown sugar on the surface until it is about 1/4" thick. Pour half of the pear syrup around ham. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until the meat is heated through. Add the rest of the syrup and arrange pears around the ham slice. Continure baking 15 to 20 minutes until the pears are heated and the syrup has cooked down.
  2. NOTE: for quicker preparation use 2 thinner slices of ham.
