Buttermilk Pie With Blackberry Sauce Recipe
Buttermilk pie is so wonderful. It is custardy, chessy, creamy....YUM. The blackberry sauce tops it, and gives it a crown of compliments!

Ingredients
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • Blackberry Sauce
  • 1/2 cup seedless blackberry preserves
  • 1 tablespoon Chamborde liqueur

Directions
  1. Beat eggs slightly
  2. Mix sugar and flour well
  3. Add to eggs
  4. Mix only until creamy
  5. Add buttermilk and vanilla
  6. Bake 325 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour until custard is set
  7. SAUCE
  8. In saucepan whisk preserves, medium heat, stirring constantly
  9. until smooth
  10. Remove from heat, add Chamborde
  11. Let cool until lukewarm and serve over warm pie or pie at room temperature
  12. THIS IS A RARE TREAT WITH THE BLACKBERRY SAUCE!

Hey, another Buttermilk girl! Great recipe! I'm serving up a Milkshake!


Ooooo, yum! I don't use alcohol so will come up with a sub for the Chamborde, but otherwise this sounds heavenly! :)


Glad to know you use rum flavoring, almond, and vanilla in the sauce, yourself. I'll give that a try! :)
