Plums With Marsala Recipe
This is a hit at dinner parties, it's really easy and makes great comfort food. Goes well with rice pudding, marscapone or vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients
  • 10 -12 ripe whole plums
  • 600 ml Marsala wine
  • 1 vanilla pod whole
  • 2 cinnamom sticks
  • 70g golden caster sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of arrowroot or cornflour to thicken

Directions
  1. Put about 2 ripe plums per person in an oven proof bowl, with about 70g of light brown sugar, a good half bottle of Marsala Wine, 2 cinnamon sticks and a whole vanilla pod.
  2. Bake at 180c degrees for 40 minutes, then bring out of the oven.
  3. Using a slotted spoon, put the plums to one side in a bowl and pour the marsala/juice into a saucepan.
  4. With a bit of arrowroot or cornflour, thicken slightly and then put the plums back into the bowl, pour the sauce over it.
  5. heat for a further 10 minutes or so. The plums should be cooked with the skin starting to fall off them.
