Apple Crisp

- 2 1/2 lbs cooking apples, cored and sliced into wedges shopping list
- optional: vanilla ice cream to serve a la mode shopping list
- FILLING: shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups water shopping list
- 3/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 stick melted butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- TOPPING: shopping list
- 3/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup oatmeal shopping list
- 1 stick butter, cut into small pieces and room temperature shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place apple wedges in 9x13 glass baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, mix ingredients for filling, whisking until smooth.
- Evenly pour filling over apples.
- In a mixing bowl, mix ingredients for topping with fingers until it resembles a coarse, crumb-like mixture.
- Evenly sprinkle topping into baking dish.
- Bake for 60 minutes, or until apples are tender and crust is golden.
- Allow to cool completely.
- Optional: serve a la mode with vanilla ice cream.
