Truly Au Gratin Potatoes Recipe
This adaptation adds so much more cheese and gooey factor to the standard Au Gratin. It also makes it much simpler and no-fail every time!

Ingredients
  • 5 large baking potatoes, peeled & sliced thin
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 stick butter, unsalted
  • 1 c. shredded cheese
  • 3 slices american cheese - (like Kraft singles)
  • 1 package Knorr 4 Cheese Sauce Mix
  • 1 tbsp. Marjoram
  • 1 tsp. Fresh Ground Black Pepper

Directions
  1. Put sliced baking potatoes in large glass bow with 1/2 c. hot water - Microwave on high for 4 minutes or until just fork tender.
  2. Butter a casserole dish.
  3. Melt butter and milk together in a saucepan. Add saucemix, marjoram and pepper, stir until dissolved and starting to thicken. Take off heat.
  4. Pour some of the sauce mix into bottom of casserole.
  5. Layer potatoes and sprinkle some shredded cheese.
  6. Layer on slices of American Cheese.
  7. Layer remaining potatoes on top.
  8. Spinkle remaininf shredded cheese on top.
  9. Pour remaining sauce mix to thoroughly coat potatoes.
  10. Cover with foil and bake at 325* for 20 minutes until bubbly.
  11. Remove foil and continue baking an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
