Triple Chocolate Trifle Recipe
This is the dessert I am always asked to bring to every party. Easy to make, it is a perfect chocolate dessert that is actually very light and not too filling. It's even better the next day! Freezes well, too.

Ingredients
  • 1 (18.25-ounce) package devil's food cake mix
  • 2 (22-ounce) prepared chocolate puddings
  • 1/2 cup Kahlúa (coffee-flavored liqueur) OR 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 2 (8-ounce) cartons frozen light whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 or 2 bags of toffee bits OR (about 8 Heath or Skor bars smashed)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Bake the cake per box instructions.
  3. Tear half of cake into pieces; place ½ of cake in a 3-quart bowl or trifle dish. Pour half of Kahlúa over cake pieces; top with half of pudding, whipped topping, and chocolate bars. Repeat procedure with remaining cake, Kahlúa, pudding, whipped topping, and chocolate bars. Cover; chill at least 4 hours.
  4. Yield: 16 servings (serving size: about 1 cup)
