GERMAN SAUSAGE CHOWDER

- 1 pound fully cooked Polish sausage, cut in ½ inch pieces shopping list
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled & chopped (2 cups) shopping list
- 1 medium onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 small head cabbage shredded (4 cups) shopping list
- 3 cups milk shopping list
- 3 tablespoons flour shopping list
- 1 cup shredded swiss cheese (4 ounces) shopping list
- Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Stir in cheese till melted. shopping list

How to make it
- In a large saucepan or Dutch oven combine sausage, potatoes, onion, salt and a dash of pepper. Add 2 cups water and bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover. Simmer for 20 minutes for till potatoes are nearly tender.
- Stir in cabbage, cook 10 minutes more or till vegetables are tender. Stir in 2 ½ cups milk. The remaining ½ cup milk stir into flour blend well and stir into soup.
