Buttermilk Biscuits

- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine (spread) shopping list
- 3/4 cup buttermilk shopping list
How to make it
- in large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda
- cut in spread until mixture is crumbly
- add buttermilk, stirring until mixture forms a soft dough
- place dough onto lightly floured surface
- knead lightly 3 to 4 times
- roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness
- with floured 1 3/4-inch biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits, re-rolling scraps if necessary to form 18 biscuits
- place 1-inch apart on lightly greased baking sheet
- bake at 425 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown
- serve warm
