Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  • Heat the oil in a medium sized frying pan and add the onion and mince. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the onion has softened and the mince browned. Break up the mince with a fork as you go.
  • Mix together the Worcestershire Sauce, flour, BBQ sauce and water and pour over the mince. Stir in the kumara, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the kumara is almost cooked.
  • Add the corn and stir to mix. Cover and simmer for another 5-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Allow to cool.
  • Roll the pastry out to a 3-4 mm thickness. Cut the pastry into 5-6cm rounds. Dampen the edges with a little milk. Place a small amount of filling in the centre. Fold into a semi-circle and press the edges together firmly. Glaze with milk and place on a baking paper lined tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until golden and hot.
