Ingredients
  • 2 tblsp Pure Olive Oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 500g Quality Mark beef mince
  • 1-2 tblsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup Smokey BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup Whole Kernel Corn
  • 1 large kumara, peeled and diced
  • 2 tblsp Plain Flour
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 packet Flaky Puff Pastry
  • 1/4 cup Milk to glaze

Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  2. Heat the oil in a medium sized frying pan and add the onion and mince. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the onion has softened and the mince browned. Break up the mince with a fork as you go.
  3. Mix together the Worcestershire Sauce, flour, BBQ sauce and water and pour over the mince. Stir in the kumara, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the kumara is almost cooked.
  4. Add the corn and stir to mix. Cover and simmer for another 5-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Allow to cool.
  5. Roll the pastry out to a 3-4 mm thickness. Cut the pastry into 5-6cm rounds. Dampen the edges with a little milk. Place a small amount of filling in the centre. Fold into a semi-circle and press the edges together firmly. Glaze with milk and place on a baking paper lined tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until golden and hot.
