Sweet and sour Meatballs

- Meatballs: shopping list
- 600 g beef mince shopping list
- 2 ml fine gloves shopping list
- 2 ml pepper shopping list
- 6 ml salt shopping list
- 10 ml origanum shopping list
- 40 ml bisto (gravy powder) shopping list
- cold water shopping list
- 2 slices thick, white bread shopping list
- 100 ml milk shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 200 ml cake flour shopping list
- Sauce: shopping list
- 2 blocks of chicken stock shopping list
- 600 ml pineapple juice shopping list
- 2 onions, chopped shopping list
- 100 ml chopped greenpepper shopping list
- 75 ml oil shopping list
- 200 ml pieces of pineapple shopping list
- 25 ml maizena or cake flour shopping list
- 50 ml vinegar shopping list
- 50 ml brown sugar shopping list
- 10 ml sojasauce shopping list
- 2 ml mixed spice shopping list
How to make it
- Meatballs:
- Mix everything together just before the origanum.
- Mix the bisto and water into the above.
- Put the bread into the milk until softened.
- Mix in with the above.
- Mix in the eggs.
- Mix in the flour.
- Form balls.
- Fry in a pan until done.
- Sauce:
- Dissolve the stock in the juice.
- Saute onion and pepper in the oil.
- Mix in the pineapple juice mixture and pieces.
- Mix the maizena, vinegar, sugar, sojasauce and spices.
- Gradually mix into the rest.
- Leave to lightly boil for 15 minutes.
- Put the meatballs into the sauce.
- Simmer for another 10 minutes.
- Serve.
