Ingredients
  • For the crust 1 cup flour 1/4 cup confections sugar plus more for dusting 1/2 cup butter,melted 1/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts For the filling 1 cup sugar 2 tablespoons flour 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoons salt 2 eggs 2 tablespoons to 1/3 cup lemon juice,depending on taste 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel 2 tablespoonschopped macadamia nuts Confectioners sugar for topping

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. For crust ,combine flour,confectioners sugar and butter in a bowl.Stir in nuts.Press into bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of a greased 8 inch square baking dish .Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
  3. For filling,in a small mixing bowl combine sugar,flour,baking powder and salt.Beat in eggs,lemon juice and lemon peel until light and fluffy.Pour over hot crust.Sprinkle with nuts.Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  4. Cool completely on wire rack.Cut into bars,spinkle with confectioners sugar.
  5. Makes 1 dozen bars.
