6 Week Bran Muffins Recipe
Make this in a large bowl. batter will keep 6 weeks in the refrigerator

Ingredients
  • Pour 2 cups boiling water over 2 cups bran cereal. set aside
  • Mix:
  • 4 cups bran cereal
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup melted shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sour milk (add 1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar to make sour)
  • 5 cups flour
  • 5 tsp baking soda (add to sour milk)
  • 2 tsp salt

Directions
  1. mix all ingredients. add the bran/water mixture.
  2. place in covered bowl.
  3. refrigerate overnight
  4. grease muffin tins
  5. bake 400 degrees for 20 minutes
