Another Amish whoopie pie, this time in spice cake
Ingredients
- For cakes: shopping list
- 3 cups flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp soda shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp ginger shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1 cup sour milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup shortening shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/2 cup molasses shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list

- For Filling: shopping list
- 2 egg whites shopping list
- 2 Tbsp milk shopping list
- 2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup shortening shopping list
- 4 Tbsp flour shopping list
- 1 pound powdered sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Cream shortening, sugar, ad eggs. Add flour and the rest of the dry ingredients.
- Theadd molasses, milk and vanilla.
- Bake 350 degrees 8-1- minutes
- .
- For filing:
- beat egg whites until stiff. Add vanilla, flour and milk. Beat well and add shortening and sugar.
- Place cream filling between two cookies.
