Portuguese Madeira Beef Shanks

- 4 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 large white onion diced shopping list
- 1 green pepper cored and diced shopping list
- 2 Jalapeño peppers seeded and mined shopping list
- 1/2 cup diced celery shopping list
- 1/2 cup minced parsley shopping list
- 4 medium beef shanks, Bone In (about shopping list
- 3 pounds total) shopping list
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, minced shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup beef broth shopping list
- 1 cup dry Madeira shopping list
- horseradish sauce(optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Place garlic, onion, bell pepper, jalapeño peppers, celery and parsley in 5-6quart slow cooker.
- Rub beef shanks with rosemary and salt. Place Shanks on top of Vegetables. Pour broth and wine over shanks and vegetables. Cover and cook on Low for 7 - 9 hours
- To serve: spoon 1 cup of Steamed rice into a soup bowl. Top rice with beef Shanks.
- Offer horseradish sauce if desired
