How to make it

  • Place garlic, onion, bell pepper, jalapeño peppers, celery and parsley in 5-6quart slow cooker.
  • Rub beef shanks with rosemary and salt. Place Shanks on top of Vegetables. Pour broth and wine over shanks and vegetables. Cover and cook on Low for 7 - 9 hours
  • To serve: spoon 1 cup of Steamed rice into a soup bowl. Top rice with beef Shanks.
  • Offer horseradish sauce if desired
