How to make it

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
  • With a pastry blender, cut in the shortening until no lumps appear.
  • For Bisquits: preheat oven to 400. To 1 1/4 cup mix, add 1 egg (or 1/4 cup liquid egg replacer) beaten with 1/4 cup water.
  • handle gently and roll out on rice floured board.
  • cut into bisquits andbake for 12-15 minutes.
  • For Pot Pies and Stews:
  • To 1 1/4 cups mix, add 1 egg (or 1/4 cup liquid egg replacer) beaten with 1/3 cup water.
  • Stir to moisten.
  • Drop by spoonful onto hot stews or pot pie.
  • Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes
