Ingredients
  • 4 cups plus 3 tablespoons featherlight mix
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup dry buttermilk powder
  • 3 tablespoons egg replacer
  • 1 cup less 1 tablespoon shortening

Directions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
  2. With a pastry blender, cut in the shortening until no lumps appear.
  3. For Bisquits: preheat oven to 400. To 1 1/4 cup mix, add 1 egg (or 1/4 cup liquid egg replacer) beaten with 1/4 cup water.
  4. handle gently and roll out on rice floured board.
  5. cut into bisquits andbake for 12-15 minutes.
  6. For Pot Pies and Stews:
  7. To 1 1/4 cups mix, add 1 egg (or 1/4 cup liquid egg replacer) beaten with 1/3 cup water.
  8. Stir to moisten.
  9. Drop by spoonful onto hot stews or pot pie.
  10. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes
