Batter-Fried Veggies

- 1 slightly beaten egg shopping list
- 1 cup ice cold water shopping list
- 1 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 5 cups of either: mushrooms, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, etc. shopping list
- shortening or oil for deep fat frying shopping list
How to make it
- For batter: In medium mixing bowl stir together egg and ice water. Add flour all at once. Add enough milk or beer to make smooth. Beat with wire whisk until smooth.
- Set aside.
- In heavy saucepan, heat 2 inches of oil or shortening to 375 degrees F.
- Dip veggies in batter. Fry 2-3 minutes or until brown.
- Be very careful!!!

Good and easy. I used zucchini and kept it warm in oven. There was leftover batter so I added shredded romano/parmesan cheese and made fritters. They were yummy, too.
