Pear Pandowdy

- 2 medium firm pears, peeled and sliced. shopping list
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar shopping list
- 4-1/2 teaspoons real butter shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons fresh squeezed lemon juice shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon ground or freshly grated nutmeg shopping list
- TOPPING shopping list
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 tablespoons plus 1/2 teaspoon sugar divided shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup very cold butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cold water shopping list
- 1 good scoop vanilla ice cream optional of course :>) shopping list
How to make it
- In a small saucepan, combine the first 6 ingredients.
- Cook and stir over medium heat for 5 min. until pears are tender.
- Pour into a 3-cup baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, 2 tbls. sugar, baking powder and
- salt;cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Stir in water.
- Sprinkle over pear mixture.
- Sprinkle remaining sugar on top of crumble mixture.
- Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 20 - 25 min. until topping is lightly browned and a toothpick comes out clean.
