Magic Hot And Sour Soup

- 4 cups chicken soup (homemade is best, but you can also use canned) shopping list
- Extra veggies (onions, carrots, mushrooms, tomatoes) as disired shopping list
- 1 garlic clove, chopped shopping list
- 4 slices fresh ginger shopping list
- 1/2 tsp hot pepper flakes, or real hot pepper shopping list
- 2 tbsp cornstarch shopping list
- 1 tbsp vinegar shopping list
- 1 egg (optional) shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Heat up your chicken soup.
- Add garlic, ginger, hot pepper.
- Simmer chicken soup with the lid on for 15 minutes.
- Dissolve cornstarch in a little water and stir into soup.
- Add vinegar.
- Simmer at least 5 minutes more with lid on.
- If using egg, beat lightly in a bowl, then beat into soup. Cook a few more minutes.
- Serve with a side of buttered rice.
