Overnight Apple French Toast

- 1 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine shopping list
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup shopping list
- 2 large tart apples, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch thick shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 9 slices day-old French bread (3/4 inch thick) shopping list

- 1 cup applesauce shopping list
- 1 jar (10 ounces) apple jelly shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves shopping list
How to make it
- In a small saucepan, cook brown sugar, butter and syrup until thick, about 5-7 minutes. Pour into an ungreased 13 inch x 9 inch baking pan; arrange apples on top. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk and vanilla. Dip bread slices into the egg mixture for 1 minute; place over apples. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Combine syrup ingredients in a medium saucepan, cook and stir until hot. Serve over French toast.

Wow, another apple recipe from you, Grizzly! This almost sounds like a really good recipe for an apple bread pudding. I'll be trying this one, too along with your pancake recipes. Thanks again for taking the time to share it with us all.
