Amish Sugar Cakes

I love these cookies! These are my favorites. They are a cake like cookie. I remember making these with my mom. We would sprinkle some with colored sugar and sprinkle some with finely chopped nuts; others we would just put a raisin on top.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 1 cup sour cream shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 3 3/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1 tsp cream of tartar shopping list
- 1 tsp soda shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter and sugar. add eggs one at a time.
- add soda, tartar and salt....mix well
- while beating add flour alternating with sour cream.
- add vanilla last
- place batter in refrigerator to chill.

- to double the batter:
- 1 cup sour cream and 1 cup sour milk
