I love these cookies! These are my favorites. They are a cake like cookie. I remember making these with my mom. We would sprinkle some with colored sugar and sprinkle some with finely chopped nuts; others we would just put a raisin on top.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  1. Cream butter and sugar. add eggs one at a time.
  2. add soda, tartar and salt....mix well
  3. while beating add flour alternating with sour cream.
  4. add vanilla last
  5. place batter in refrigerator to chill.
  6. .
  7. to double the batter:
  8. 1 cup sour cream and 1 cup sour milk
