All American Clam Chowder Recipe
This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Garrett Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1994.

Ingredients
  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup white onion minced
  • 7-1/2 ounce can minced clams reserve liquid
  • 1 cup potatoes cubed
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  1. Cook bacon until crisp then remove and break into 1” pieces.
  2. Brown onion in bacon fat then add clam liquid and potatoes.
  3. Cover and cook over low heat until potatoes are done about 15 minutes.
  4. Blend in bacon pieces, minced clams and other ingredients.
  5. Heat but do not boil.
  6. Bacon may be used for garnish.
