Fresh Peach Cobbler

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin shopping list
- 4 cups peeled fresh peaches shopping list
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice shopping list
- 1 cup flour shopping list
- 1 tablespoon sugar shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 3 tablespoons shortening shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 400.
- Mix 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg in a saucepan.
- Stir in peaches and lemon juice.
- Cook over medium heat until mixture thickens and boils.
- Boil and stir 1 minute.
- Pour into ungreased casserole dish.
- Stir together flour, baking powder, 1 tablespoon sugar and salt.
- Add shortening and cut through with a fork until flour clings to shortening then add milk.
- Form into a ball.
- Drop mixture by teaspoonsful onto hot fruit.
- Bake 30 minutes.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
