How to make it

  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl.
  • Stir chocolates in top of double boiler set over simmering water until melted and smooth. Remove from over water and cool mixture slightly.
  • Beat shortening, sugar and eggs in bowl until fluffy.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Beat in chocolate mixture thoroughly.
  • Stir in flour mixture, then Heath bits.
  • Chill batter until firm, about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment.
  • Drop batter onto sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart. Bake 8 minutes. Cool on sheets.
