Wet Bottom Shoo Fly Pie Recipe
This is a recipe that comes from a Sunday School classmate. She makes this often and brings it to our bible study. Always a big hit with everyone. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 deep dish 9" pie shell

Directions
  1. Mix flour, sugar and shortening until crumbly.
  2. Save 1/2 cup for the top.
  3. Mix remaining crumbs with molasses, egg and baking soda dissolved in water.
  4. Pour this mixture into unbaked pie shell and sprinkle crumbs on top.
  5. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.
