How to make it

  • Cook lentils according to package directions (or, if using non-packaged lentils, add lentils to boiling water and simmer for 30 minutes-1 hour or until soft); drain and cool.
  • Combine lentils, onion, bread crumbs, parsely, eggs, and nuts.
  • Stir in thyme, basil, salt, and pepper.
  • Mold into 16 burger-sized patties.
  • Grill patties on BBQ or indoor grill until cooked through. Or, if using frying pan, heat oil on med high heat.
  • Add four patties at a time and brown.
  • Remove patties from heat and drain on paper towels.
  • Transfer to a platter and serve. Yum!

    I grew up on lentil patties, I'm trying to get my mom to give me the version she used to make but she always says she forgets.. I can never get them to stick together to taste the way she made them, I remember salty and mayo.
